This fantastic 14-day trip starts in Arequipa, a vibrant city in the deep south of Peru. In 13 tough days on the motorbike we will then take you along all the highlights that this special country has to offer, from the high peaks of the Andes (where we ride up to 5,000 meters high) to the spectacular Valley of the Volcanoes, with its amazing views. We will spend the night at the famous Lake Titicaca, the highest lake in the world on the border with Bolivia, and go to Cusco, the former capital of the Inca Empire. We will traverse the driest desert in the world and of course we will visit the famous Lost City, Machu Picchu. Due to the high altitudes, the challenging gravel roads and the rugged nature of Peru, this is a trip for real adventurers!

Return Arequipa

The starting and ending point of the Machu Picchu OFF ROAD is the colonial UNESCO World Heritage city of Arequipa, located at an altitude of 2,300 meters.

You travel to Arequipa on your own. But from the moment we welcome you, you don't have to think about anything. Then it's time to enjoy. We make sure everything is arranged for you, and we don't cut corners. Because we understand that a lighter motorcycle is more fun to drive, we transport your luggage in a support vehicle. When you arrive at your hotel, your luggage will be ready in your single room. Nice, right?

Dutch guidance, very pleasant

How is your Spanish? We thought so! That's why we meet Lars in Arequipa, a Dutch guy who has been living in Peru for years and organizes adventure motorcycle tours there. He speaks fluent Spanish (you should hear him swear). In Arequipa our motorcycles are ready and Lars arranges the necessary paperwork for us. He accompanies our group of maximum 6 people during the trip.

Lars “Let’s go!” Caldenhoven

Lars werd in 1967 geboren onder een avontuurlijk gesternte. Al jong ging hij met zijn ouders op trekkingtochten, door de Zwitserse en Oostenrijkse Alpen. Avontuurlijke reizen zijn hem met de paplepel ingegoten. Na zijn schoolcarrière heeft hij het even geprobeerd in de verf-business, maar het bloed kroop toch waar het niet gaan kon. Dus pakte Lars zijn backpack in en vertrok naar Zuid-Amerika. Hij belandde in Peru, waar hij tijdens een motortrip van Cusco naar Arequipa het licht zag. Hij moest een motor-touring onderneming starten! In 2004 was PeruMotors een feit. Inmiddels is dat bedrijf één van de toonaangevende motor-touring bedrijven in Zuid-Amerika, met een vloot van meer dan 60 motorfietsen en reizen in meer dan 10 landen. Lars begeleidt zelf ook nog altijd reizen, gewoon omdat hij gek is op avontuur. Lars is no-nonsens, opgeruimd, klant- en oplossingsgericht, impulsief en, eerlijk is eerlijk, nogal snel verveeld. Hij is altijd op zoek naar nieuwe prikkels, heeft improviseren tot kunst verheven en is volkomen wars van status. Je snapt: je ideale reisleider!
